Made with love
I've never made a Halloween costume before, but with my daughter being a little older this year (last year she actually fell asleep in her stroller for awhile while we went door-to-door with family), I decided I was going to find a way how.
While out shopping I came across a (free!) No-Sew-How-To packet that had a picture of a girl in a ladybug costume on the front, and the simplicity of it is what caught my eye.
And the fact that it was no-sew.
Because I am THE definition of what a novice sewer is.
So how could I fail at that!
I used only the supplies in the first picture (with exception of the needle and thread, of course): 1 red pillowcase, black ribbon, hot glue, black felt, and scissors. And at the last minute I added elastic around the bottom to give it a gathered but stretchy fit.
I spent a total of about 2 hours (and about $2), and I have to say, I'm pretty impressed with how this little ladybug costume turned out, complete with clip on antennaes (shown clipped on the shoulders) that I'll clip right on to her pigtails!
It was all super easy and I'm already looking forward to making next year's costume!
We're excited and can't wait to take her out around the neighborhood this weekend, and trust me, there will be plenty of pics for posting afterward)
:)
What are your plans for Halloween?!?
